Long time, no email...

Hey! Sorry it's been so long since I've emailed. I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. We will be having Cluster next Thursday (Dec.11) at our normal time (6:30). This meal will be provided for you. There's no need to bring anything. Since this is not our normal fourth Thursday, I need to know if any of my musically inclined or spiritually inclined people will be there. Mr. Socha has committed to a prior engagement, so I am hoping a clergy might be there.

Also, the latest edition of the Grapevine is available online.

I hope to see you all soon.

Beginning next Thursday, I will be asking you to sign in each meeting so that we can keep up with those that are active in the Cluster. As of today, we still do not have a Spiritual Director for the 2009 year. Any ideas/suggestions?

Update

So far, we have filled all of the positions, minus Spiritual Director. We have had only one suggestion for this post, Burt Bolin from Blountsville. I would like some more input from the Cluster before we make any decisions. Please pray for this position, and let me know if you feel led toward someone.

Last Cluster meeting was great! We really had a nice meeting. Thanks to those of you who were in attendance.

Info you might want to know:
* Next meeting: Dec. 11 @ 6:30 - catered meal
* Future meetings we will sign in so as to keep track of those regularly attending. It seems there are some that are working walks but are not active in Cluster. We want to keep up with those that attend in order to give active Cluster members a chance to work a walk.
* Please check out our calendar for upcoming walks.
* Anna Bashears's dad will be attending the walk this weekend.

I hope to hear from you soon and see you December 11. I would love to know if any talented musicians (Bill or Bob or others) or clergy will be there so as to plan for the meeting.

Leadership Roles in 2009

Please be prayerful of the leadership for the 2009 year. We need to assign positions for the 2009 year. I hope that you will ask God to lead us to the people that will help us to bloom and grow as a cluster.

We will be meeting October 24 at 6:30. The names must be turned in to John Schuessler by November 1. I am open to volunteers and nominations. Sometimes we're more willing to accept a role rather than approach a role.

Emmaus Walk

I wanted to remind everyone that there will be a walk this weekend. I know that prayers are always welcomed, and I encourage you to attend Candlelight this Saturday night if you can. It is such a blessing to get to be on the opposite side.

Don't forget...we also have Cluster next Thursday night!!

I'm so excited!

I know that this isn't the best website we could have. I'm sure my computer geek of a husband could do much, much better, but this is something that serves our purposes and is easy for me to maintain without bothering Kev. What I mean to say is that I have already had several email me that they have checked out the website, and I even had our first blogger/messenger other than myself! I hope this website is a success. Thank you all so much! Brandy, Liz, and I have really enjoyed being a part of such a wonderful cluster this last year!!

Well, here it is...

I searched and thought and thought and searched, and here it is...the Oneonta Emmaus Cluster website. I hope all of you will take the time to explore the features I have added. There is a message board where we can keep conversations going in between meetings. Photos will be added from time to time as I take them at gatherings.

This weekend is Walk #340 at Camp Sumatanga. Candlelight was tonight, and it was as beautiful as ever. As we sat in Hutto having our service, the laughter and applause from the pilgrims swept through the room. It was apparent that they were having a marvelous time. There was a wonderful turnout, as we had two local pilgrims (that I know of) on this walk: Cheryl Salamone and Donna Pabalate. Hutto filled with flickering flames that illuminated the faces of the loving Emmaus Community. It always amazes me how many people take the time out of their Saturday nights to attend this short, yet wonderful service. There were even visitors from Central Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee, and Northern Georgia. WOW!!

On a side note, Sumatanga had some t-shirts for sale at $5 each. We arrived there too late to browse the selection, but if anyone could tell me how I can get my hands on a "Peace, Love, and Chiggers" t-shirt, I would greatly appreciate it. Several of what I suspected to be team members were wearing these. I would love to have a Sumatanga t-shirt, so if you're in the know, please post a comment or start a message in the message board.

Have a great weekend, and I hope to see you soon!
